Help! My Timeshare’s Been Hijacked!

My timeshare got jacked!

I’ve had it happen to me and I’m pretty sure it’s happened to you. Your timeshare got jacked!

Recently, we received an email from an angry timeshare owner (she was red hot!). She’s a member of a timeshare exchange service (I won’t name them but it’s obvious that it is either RCI or Interval International - no shocker there). They deposited their week and then began the what-should-be-an-exciting-process of finding a vacation. It is anything but that.

They made numerous requests to the timeshare exchange company for numerous resorts and…nothing. Time goes on and they make more requests and…nothing. They begin to get panicked because time is going by and they lower their standards and widen their time margins and…nothing. Well their vacation time came and went. They weren’t able to use their banked week. The timeshare exchange company still has their week on deposit but this person has no vacation. And what makes matters worse? The timeshare exchange company is now asking for another year of membership fees so that they can keep the timeshare on deposit otherwise they lose the week. Can you believe that? What can this person do? They either pay another year or they lose their week. It sounds like their timeshare did get hijacked.

Does the timeshare exchange company deserve another year of fees even though they didn’t provide the customer timeshare owner a satisfactory service? Does this timeshare owner have a right to complain?
